We believe in complete transparency. Your personalized quote is carefully calculated based on the unique elements of your event or service request. Here’s a general breakdown:

Typically Included in Base Price:

  • Menu Planning & Consultation: Initial discussion and bespoke menu design.
  • Ingredient Costs: Sourcing high-quality, fresh vegan ingredients.
  • Chef's Expertise & Time: Preparation, cooking, and Chef Bakiel's unique skills.
  • Standard Culinary Setup & Cleanup: Related to food preparation areas.
  • Base Staffing (as specified): Chef and potentially basic service staff depending on the package.

Potential Additional Costs (Itemized in Quote):

  • Travel Expenses: For services outside Gauteng (see Travel Policy below).
  • Additional Service Staff: Waiters, bartenders, extra kitchen help as needed.
  • Equipment Rentals: Specialized items not available at the venue (e.g., specific serving ware, extra cooking equipment).
  • Premium Ingredients: Requests for exceptionally rare or imported items.
  • Venue Fees: Any charges imposed by the event location.
  • Beverage Packages: Specific drink requirements or bar services.
  • Extended Service Hours: Service required beyond the standard agreed time.

Travel Expense Policy

We are based in Johannesburg and are delighted to offer our gourmet plant-based catering and private chef services in both Gauteng and select areas of Cape Town.

Please note that for services required outside of the greater Johannesburg/Pretoria area, the following additional costs will be included transparently in your personalized quote:

  • Transportation: Actual cost of return flights (economy) or vehicle travel (calculated at standard AA rates per kilometer) from Johannesburg.
  • Accommodation: Actual cost of reasonable accommodation (e.g., standard hotel room or equivalent) for the required number of nights for Chef Bakiel and any necessary staff.
  • Per Diem (if overnight stay required): A daily allowance may be included to cover meals and incidentals for staff while traveling and working away from base. This will be specified in the quote.
